Experience and Passion

Dr. Mizuno received her doctorate degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from Five Branches University San Jose CA, one of the most prestigious Traditional Chinese Medicine schools in the United States. She owned her private practice in Honolulu HI, then moved to the beautiful city of Milwaukee in 2020. She is an expert in mental/emotional/sleep issues, female and male fertility issues, as well as variety of pain issues.

She was born and raised in Kobe, Japan. As she completed her undergraduate studies in Psychology, she began dreaming of extending her studies in the United States, where counseling psychology is on the forefront. She kept her dream while she was raising her child, then moved to the United States with her 3 years old son in 2004.

After receiving a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology (MFT) in California, she began interning at a federally funded counseling center for children. Though it was an extremely rewarding job, she found herself frustrated by the reality that it was next to impossible to have successful results with the children without the involvement of their families in the counseling process. In many of her cases, her clients’ families were not closely involved in their lives.

Eventually she encountered several studies of Oriental Medicine, which she was growing up with but overlooked it. She was really inspired by the holistic approach of this medicine. It was such an eye opening experience that it brought her hope and firm belief that it would allow her to truly help those who were having difficulties living a healthy life, which we all deserve.

Since she started a master's program in Traditional Oriental Medicine in 2008, she was amazed at the treatment results at school clinic during her internship. Oriental Medicine is not magic but a medicine, and the results were beyond her expectation. The most fascinating phenomena were that it treated the root cause, not just covered the symptoms. Patients became more balanced and stronger. She witnessed that many patients were gaining their quality of lives in the course of treatments. After receiving a master's degree, she extended her study into doctorate program in order to deepen her knowledge and learn under the amazing teachers from around the world.

Her happiness stems from seeing her patients regain their beautiful and happy smiles while transforming to a healthier version of themselves.

Off Days

When Dr. Mizuno is not in the office, she enjoys going hiking, trying new cuisine from around the world, listening to jazz and classic music, playing with her puppy, and weekend Skype call with her son who is studying Marine Biology in Hawaii.
